I’m so excited to be officially open for business in Prosser. I truly believe there is a strong need for affordable web development services in the area.
My career in website development started by accident back in 1998. As a finance intern at PNNL one of the tasks given was to create an internal website for one of the business offices. I was later hired on in the finance department. I always enjoyed the technical side to my job (database development, spreadsheets, etc.) and in 2000 was able make a lateral move to the Finance Departments interal systems development group.
My focus there was not only more advanced database development but also maintaining and developing new web applications for internal use.
After leaving PNNL in 2004, I dabbled in web design for a few years. From 2006 to May 2008 I worked for a web design firm from my home as a Project Manager. From that position I realized traditional websites were not always the answer for small businesses. They were not able after the fact to update their websites and many had not considered the marketing aspect of having a website.
I had been exposed to WordPress back in 2006 but did not realize the true potential of the platform until just recently. It provides the flexibility to not only work as a blogging platform but works wonderfully as a simple content management system.
As an avid learner, I have spent the better part of 2 years learning about search engine optimization has well as internet marketing.
Not only will Mid Columbia Webs be providing web development services, but we will be providing tips and resources through our blog for effectively marketing online.
